I love how these last two chapters demonstrate that stories do, indeed, matter in the real world. Mr Able takes refuge in Shakespeare and then in Austen, making them a part of his routine, and they not only rejuvenate him but lay the groundwork for an unexpected human connection! That's truly the power of literature —restoring the soul, and forging community among shared readers.

Glad to see Bill out of his head, and back on the town! I'm eager to see if Kelsey's positioning herself for a back-in-town fling of convenience, or if she has deeper designs on our stalwart protagonist. Either way, she brings great potential as a change-agent in Able's life.

I like the encapsulation of of the needed mental space that winter break provides here; extricating yourself from the professional grind after four months of it always feels like a bit of paradise. An excellent rendering of what confers status in the world of golf course real estate, too: the details about the elevation and sight-lines had the ring of truth about them.
